This is a sensiive issue and still under investigation, but let us tackle it. According to the Sowetan Newspaper, TV star Bonang Matheba and her ex-boyfriend, DJ Euphonik, appeared in court yesterday for the case of assault that Bonang laid against Euphonik. The newspaper states that Euphonik wasn't asked to plead to charges of housebreaking, assault with intent to do grievous bodily
harm, and malicious damage to property during his brief court appearance. Prosecutor Fikile Hlabangani placed it on record that
investigations were still to be completed, that the state still needed to obtain statements from witnesses and that the J88 form, which record the nature of injuries, were still outstanding.
Bonang allegedly sustained injuries on her eye and upper lip and
there are rumours that in the week of the alleged beating, she almost
didn't make it to host the music show LIVE because of the injuries.
However, she did present the popular youth show.
A couple of days later Euphonik handed himself into the police and
was then released on R 3000. He is on charges of housebreaking,
assault with intent to do grievous bodily hard, and malicious
damage to property. The two stars will appear in court again on July
